Sant'Omobono, only 25 kilometres from Bergamo, stands at 500 metres above sea level in the picturesque setting of the Imagna Valley. The particularly mild climate makes it perfect for a summer holiday.

The place
The most important centre in the Imagna Valley, Sant'Omobono is made up of the hamlets of Cepino, Mazzoleni, Falghera and Selino.
The parish church of Cepino, dedicated to St. Bernardino, has 17th century paintings by an unknown artist, an 18th century “Pietà” by Gaetano Peverada and sixteen small pictures with macabre scenes.
The parish church of Mazzoleni, named after St. Omobono, has a number of admirable paintings including an altar-piece by G.G.Lolmo.
The parish church of Selino, dating back to the 18th century, has paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, a Virgin Mary attributed to Cignaroli and a Massacre of the Innocents by Quarenghi.
The sanctuary dearest to the heart of the valley’s inhabitants is in Sant'Omobono and is also known outside the Bergamo area: the Sanctuary of Cornabusa in a grotto dedicated to the Virgin Mary holding the body of Christ.
